Dear Folks,

I am planning to do a video this summer about our family roots with my son Robyn. It will be about 10 minutes, very low budget, and give a broad overview of where we came from originally in the times of Queen Elizabeth the First and where we have been since – London, West Bromwich, Liverpool, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, New Zealand, USA, South Africa, Australia. The list goes on. I will support the video with a short booklet that will explain each of the strands of the Cul(l)wick story. The booklet will not have much detail, but will leave a couple of blank pages for you to enter your own tree or make notes.

I would like your cooperation please. I thought it would be a nice introduction to the video to have various people surnamed Culwick or Cullwick introducing themselves. A “head and shoulders” with the person saying “I am ???? CUL(L)WICK. I was born in ??????(place) and now live in ???????” And please add anything else that you think might be interesting about yourself or family.

Just imagine if someone had made a film back in 1950 and we could now look at our grandfathers and great grandfathers talking to camera. I think this will be an excellent record for future generations, and I hope you will be able to help. A simple file attachment to an email addressed to me at cullwickgrem@yahoo.com will be the best way to send the video, and the alternative would be on a CD to my home address.

Deadline will be the end of June 2011, as we need to put the video together soon after that.

That plan is to launch video and booklet at our annual Cul(l)wick meet (in Birmingham - probably May of 2012). The intention is to make the pack FREE to all who attend and/or all who take part by sending me a video of themselves. After that, there will probably be a nominal charge to cover costs.

Many thanks in anticipation of your help.
Kindest wishes
John Cullwick (born 1946 Wolverhampton, Staffordshire)
