  I have one reference to CHERRINGTON - a Harriet Cherrington who married Samual PARTRIDGE ON 27 April 1848. They had about 7 or 8 children in the Dudley area. - regards, Gary in Vancouver

  I'm struggling to find out almost anything about the early life of a great grandfather, Charles PEARCE, who was born circa 1860, married Louisa PARTRIDGE in St. Thomas Church, Dudley in 1884, and then lived in Cradley until he died in 1924 (and she in 1948). I have just found a Charles PEARCE in the 1881 Census CD who looks like a good candidate for the position (a coal miner age 20). He was a lodger in Kingswinford, so that is no help with regard to the rest of his family. However, he was born in nearby Bromley which I know is by Pensnett, close to Dudley. Can someone please tell me which Registration District this would have been in, to help me find him in the GRO Index of Births (there are lots of Charles Pearces).

• Jane CHERRINGTON & Henry GUEST - 1832-1893 - TIPTON area - last child christened - emigrated to Canada 1874

  I am still trying to get a lead on my ggf, Henry GUEST (1832-1893). Dont know his parents, or marriage date. Before emigrating to Canada 1874, he lived for while in TIPTON area, where he had his last child christened.

  He married a Jane CHERRINGTON.

  In 1864 he signed a 5-year contract as manager with ironmasters George TAYLOR and Reuben FARLEY of West Bromwich. Family (anecdotal) information is that he earlier lived in WEST BROMWICH, and may have descended from the GUESTs of BROSELEY (SAL)
