He would have been born about 1785 and likely married about 1805, possibly to a woman named Sarah. GEORGE's name and occupation appear on the marriage record for his son JOSEPH C. Booth when Joseph, as a widower, married for the second time in 1863. Joseph was born in Shakeford a small village south of Market Drayton on 26 Nov 1808, according to family and census records. I do not find an IGI or christening record for him online. Joseph -- a carpenter and builder -- married Jemima LAWTON 12 March 1831 in HODNET. They lived for many years at nearby MARCHAMLEY, a small village northwest of HODNET at the entrance to Hawkstone Hall. I have all of their children including son Benjamin, my ancestor. BENJAMIN married JANE EBREY on 23 April 1866 in Prees, northern Shropshire. They came to Wisconsin in 1866 and raised a family of two sons and four daughters. There is on FreeBMD a George Booth who died in the 3rd quarter of 1845 in Market Drayton, a possible match but unconfirmed as the George Booth I am seeking. Also on FreeBMD is the death of a Sarah Booth in the first quarter of 1841 in Market Drayton. The surmise that George's wife may have been a woman named Sarah is based on an IGI record for the baptism of a Mary Booth, 28 Feb 1807, Market Drayton, daughter of George and Sarah Booth. I welcome any information or resources about George Booth and this extended Booth family in the area of Shropshire north of Shrewsbury. Also welcome are suggestions on approaches for further research. I am trying to confirm the children of Thomas EBREY and Isabella GILCHRIST who married in Prees on 31 Dec 1795, according to an IGI record. He was a butcher by occupation and appears in 1828 and 1835 Shropshire directories first as Thomas Aberey & Sons, Butchers, Prees, and then as Thomas Aberey, Butcher, Prees. He is in the 1841 Census as Thomas Eberey, age 65, butcher in Prees. His sons appear to include John Gilchrist Ebrey and Robert Ebrey, both butchers in Ightfield or Prees. IGI records have some contradictory information. John Ebrey married Mary Paling of Ightfield, and one of their children is Jane Ebrey. They are my ancestors. Thank you for any help you can provide.
