William's eldest son was Walter, born abt 1856 in Dudley Port, a canal port between Dudley and Tipton - actually just in Staffordshire. He married Clara BOWLES, dau of Richard BOWLES
Walter (1856-1932) and Clara (1861-?), I am told, were both members of the Salvation Army and therefore highly respectable and religious. They had 6 children:
- Bertha b 1884. Md SHARP 1912 in St Albans
- Clara b 1887. Md HULL in same June quarter in St Albans Reg District (double wedding?)
- Walter William b 1888. No further information about him. Think he was on 1901 census, then nothing.
- Lilian Maud b 1892. Md CARNEGIE in Hampstead RD in June 1926
- Martha b 1893. In 1901 census, then no further info.
- Florence Selina b 1896

Died in June quarter of 1912 in Gillingham (Medway R.D). Buried at Gillingham Parish Church.
